I mean it shouldn't be discussed how Amazon works or doesn't work.

But actually there is sold a lot of junk, that clearly isn't allowed in the European market. A lot slips through. 
So it isn't actual proof thay it is comformant if someone sells it there.

For example the CE symbol and Product identifier must be in the product in a "non removable" way to be allowed. If that is now the case then that is already an improvement. If wasn't at the beginning al least. I don't know if that has changed.
