hostap driver updation on net4521

Hi,

I'm using senao NL-2511CD Pluz EXT2 card on net4521/debian

1) I tried to update hostap driver on 2.4.18 source but failed
2) Downloaded kernel-source 2.4.20 and changed all directory names, links
from 2.4.20 to 2.4.18
    Also value in include/linux/version.h to 2.4.18
3) cd /usr/src/linux-2.4.20/  and make dep [no errors]
4) make bzImage   [got some errors, ignored them]
5) cd hostap-driver,
6) patched kernel for 2.4.20, make clean, make, make install
7) got following errors during 'make install', ofcourse not in sequence but
dispersed.

depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/pcmcia/hostap_cs.o

8) PCMCIA card worked fine till now and even accepted some 'iwpriv' commands

   but after reboot the card wasn't recognised by my system

   Any solution to solve this prob.
