automatic WDS in 0.1.2 broken?

hello!

it seems to me that the automatic WDS feature is broken in 0.1.2. 

no matter how often i do 
 iwpriv wlan0 wds_add 00:00:00:00:00:00

cat /proc/net/hostap/wlan0/wds always shows me:
wlan0wds0       00:00:00:00:00:00

and the kernel log says:
wlan0: using pre-allocated WDS netdevice wlan0wds0

can anyone confirm this? 

i use kernel 2.4.24 on a mips platform.
