Error when starting get_iplayer (0xc0000142)

If there's a problem in one of the data files that get_iplayer uses then
uninstall & reinstall is unlikely to fix it; many apps preserve any user's
data over an uninstall/reinstall in exactly the same way that they would if
you updated the version of the app.  You'd want that to happen normally.

System restore restores things like registry settings, older version of
drivers etc.  It won't (normally) affect any user data.

Well, maybe, but maybe not.  Maybe some files have been repaired but are now
out of step with related files.

I think you need dinkpumpkin to tell you what the specific error code you're
getting actually means.  

Do you back up your user data files?  Restoring those to a point when it all
last worked might fix this.
