Please get and build pcmciautils-006, as I am very confiddent that this will
fix the bug you're seeing.

Just leave /etc/pcmcia/config.opts the way it is (at first).

2.6.12.2 -> 2.6.13-rc3:
patch -R -p1 < /path/to/patch-2.6.12.2
patch -p1 < /path/to/patch-2.6.13-rc3
