Adding custom IE in all beacon and probe response frames

Hello All,

I need to add custom IE  in all beacon and probe response frames. Is 
wpa_supplicant right tool to achieve it?

I saw a field called "ap_vendor_elements" in wpa_supplicant.conf. However, 
It seems that it is not available in 2.0 version of wpa_supplicant that I 
am using, is 2.x release planned any time soon?

Is there any other way to achieve it? Any suggestion would be of great 
help.

btw, as base driver interface, I am using nl80211 interface.
