Query on channel configuration

Most likely.

Please check what "iw list" shows in the 5 GHz band frequencies. hostapd
won't allow the channel to be used if it requires passive scanning on
radar detection. You could try changing the regulatory domain with "iw
reg set US" for mac80211_hwsim testing purposes.
