WPA-None in IBSS is quite a hack and I would not really consider it to
be a production quality design in the first place.. Anyway, yes, I've
seen it work with wpa_supplicant, but I have not tested with ath5k or
any other mac80211-based for that matter. Please also note that in case
of WPA-None, wpa_supplicant is only setting a fixed key to the driver
and everything else is done by the driver and as such, this question
would be more likely for the scope of the driver, not wpa_supplicant.
