Getting Atheros 5k to work with WPA in Ad-Hoc mode

Hm, I feared so. So what is the prefered solution to connect two 
wireless boxes without an additional access point in between? Is WEP 
the best I can do for this scenario or is there anything else I could 
try to have a more secure WPA-approach up and running?
