Well, yes I did, and then the encryption seems to work (I.e. no error
messages) but for some reason I cannot get an IP from the dhcpserver...

Did you try this new build with -Dwext on the wpa_supplicant command line?
Intel driver is moving towards using Linux wireless extensions instead of
private ioctls when the kernel has support for WE-18 or newer.
