Problem with SMC2532W-B V2 (0xd601 0x0010)

This may (or may not) be helpful- Zcomax, the manufacturer of the SMC
branded cards, plays a little fast and loose with FCC-ID numbers and
internal hardware:

Cards with the FCC ID XI-325* use the Prism 2.5 chipset. SMC no longer
provide these cards, however they are available on special order directly
from Zcom (long, long lead times). HostAP worked fine with these cards.

Cards with FCC ID XI-330* AND a serial number that has the number 55
embedded in it, actually use the Prism 2.5 chipset despite having the FCC
ID number associated with the Prism 3.0 chipset.

Cards with FCC ID XI-330* AND a serial number that has the number 56
embedded in it, actually use the Prism 3.0 chipset but don't correctly
report TX levels when "auto" mode is selected unless you roll back the
secondary firmware to 1.3.2 which breaks wds. There may also be other
anomalies in a hostAP enviroment.

Cards with FCC ID XI-330* AND a serial number that has the number 58 (we've
never received any 57's) embedded in it (these are the cards we now receive
when we order) actually use the Prism 3.0 chipset and DO correctly report TX
levels when "auto" mode is selected. HostAP seems to work fine.
