Hi All!
Sorry for the simple question, but I'm having some trouble setting up hostapd
and xsupplicant, if anyoune could give me some pointers, I'd be very
grateful.
First, I've read the following pages:
Adam Sulmicki: HOWTO on EAP/TLS authentication between FreeRADIUS and
XSupplicant http://www.missl.cs.umd.edu/wireless/eaptls/
Adam Sulmicki: HOWTO on EAP/TLS authentication between FreeRADIUS and
XSupplicant with HostAP
http://www.missl.cs.umd.edu/Projects/wireless/hostap.html
And obviously the HostAP README file.
The message I get when starting hostapd is:
#hostapd -d /etc/hostapd.conf
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd.conf
Opening raw packet socket for ifindex 4
Using interface wlan0ap with hwaddr 00:02:dd:32:5b:46 and ssid 'test'

wlan0: STA 00:02:78:e1:b0:49 IEEE 802.11: did not acknowledge authentication
response
And so on...
While at the station, I get:
#xsupplicant -i wlan0
Setup on device wlan0 complete
set globals.
Done with init.
Sending EAPOL-Start #1
Sending EAPOL-Start #2
No authenticator found! Assuming the port is authorized!
The only diffs between the standard hostapd.conf and the one I'm using are:
- -debug=0
+debug=1
- -daemonize=1
+daemonize=0
- -#ieee8021x=1
+ieee8021x=1
- -minimal_eap=0
+minimal_eap=1
And the XSupplicant's conf file is simply:
test:id = adam-ctl
test:auth = EAP
Thanks in advance!
