I looked and didn't see it on the datasheets for it (or at least didn't 
understand what that was meaning

that matches what my measurements had been showing.

As a thought for the future, I do a lot of battery powered and vehicle mounted 
stuff, plain 12v power as an option rather than having to go through a converter 
would be a nice option to have on a future version.
