Are you sure that's not just a configuration/vpnc-script problem? The
log you forwzrded to me looks entirely sane, and I can't see how the
client is *supposed* to post any form of acceptance back to the server.

Can you show the output of 'ip addr' and 'ip route' when you're
supposedly connected?

Do you have a vpnc-script installed and functional?
