It is not the one-bit shift that is bugging the screen..
Let me check 2.6.11 sometime later and I will mail the results.. I seem to
recall that it worked fine (or maybe I hade patched it somehow.)

I also ported the framegrabber back then which is no longer supported in
current kernels.
