During the past weeks, I've submitted four patchset proposals
[-b12 to -b15] -- in short, here is what they do:

pcmcia-b12 [ http://www.brodo.de/patches/2004-04-19/pcmcia-b12.tar.bz2 ]
- mark obsolete code with CONFIG_PCMCIA_OBSOLETE
- make a difference between PCMCIA (== 16-bit) and PCCARD (16-bit or 32-bit)

pcmcia-b13 [ http://www.brodo.de/patches/2004-04-19/pcmcia-b13.tar.bz2 ]
- remove dependency on "handle" in ds.c <-> pcmcia_core interaction

pcmcia-b14 [ http://www.brodo.de/patches/2004-04-19/pcmcia-b14.tar.bz2 ]
- remove "handle" in ds.c <-> pcmcia_core
- register pcmcia devices with driver model core

pcmcia-b15 [ http://www.brodo.de/patches/2004-05-06/pcmcia-b15.tar.bz2 ]
- client_t becomes a part of struct pcmcia_core

For the details, please check the detailed announcements sent to the pcmcia
list.

It'd be great if these patchsets could receive some testing -- to make
applying them easier for you,"bigdiffs" for each patchset can be found
here:
