What is the easiest way to set up a sniffer?


I will set up some time this weekend to deep dive documenting this.
The Google doc should take only abou 20 minutes on a *debian box.
Usually less after the first time as I try to cache as much as I can.
I turned on comments if youd like to try it and want to dialogue.

I can also dd a lite weight copy I can verify as bad, first and also
