libertas_cs grinds my machine to a halt

Hello,

I'm in the process of preparing a kernel for the Zaurus C-series PDAs
that includes the libertas_cs driver so I can use my SparkLAN CF card
with it. In the mean time, I'm trying to get the card to work with my
laptop so I will know how to set up the Zaurus kernel and userspace in
advance. Currently, I'm using the libertas and libertas_cs drivers
that shipped with kernel 2.6.24 and the latest 5.0.16 firmware
extracted from the GPL'ed cf8385.h file, generated by the libertas
build process. I'm using the CF card inside a PCMCIA-CF adapter for
testing.

Everything works correctly until the libertas_cs driver requests the
libertas_cs.fw file. After I modprobe libertas_cs, my laptop grinds
to a halt (the modprobe doesn't even return). There is no output in
the syslog or the kernel log; not even a core dump.

Is anyone else having this problems? Has anyone else found a solution?

Many thanks,
Jude Nelson
