hostapd/wpa_supplicant versioning

Hi,

Could somebody (if not Jouni) help clarify the versioning of hostapd/wpa_supplicant:

1.       In Andriod 4.x open source download, there are two versions of wpa_supplicant: wpa_supplicant_6 and wpa_supplicant_8. What are version numbers for them, 0.6 and 0.8 or 6 and 8? Are they Google's own wpa_supplicant versions, so totally separate from the official hostap/wpa_supplicant?

2.       How do these two Andriod wpa_supplicants roughly match to the official versions shown in the hostapd release graph (http://hostap.epitest.fi/releases.html)?
