deauthenticated due to inactivity

Hi all.

I've googled this without success: my AP keeps disassociating and deauthenticating my STAs due to nonexistant inactivity.

Every 120 seconds, the following sequence appears in the log:

hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 IEEE 802.11: disassociated
hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 IEEE 802.11: deauthenticated due to inactivity
hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 IEEE 802.11: authenticated
hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 IEEE 802.11: associated (aid 1)
hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 RADIUS: starting accounting session 4C5E7163-0000000D
hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:16:6f:59:03:23 WPA: pairwise key handshake completed (RSN)

This is despite the fact that the STA in question is continuously pinging the AP. This behaviour also seems not to be influenced by the value of ap_max_inactivity, which is always set to a higher number than 120 anyway.

I noticed the behaviour on Ubuntu 9.10 (which has a 2.6.31-based kernel) and when I found a reference to a fix for similar sypmtoms that went into 2.6.32 I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 with kernel 2.6.32-24-generic. Same difference.

The hostapd version is 0.6.9. The wireless card is an Atheros 5001X+ using the ath5k driver (nl80211 in hostapd.conf).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don't hesitate to ask for more info if needed.

Thanks, Jan
