I tried the wireless testing and found hostap can not
work.

My env is: FC10 beta, with the kernel built from
wireless testing(have patched the wireless testing
source to enable AP mode); libnl 1.1; ath5k chipset.

ifconfig showed that the wlan0 was ready:
[root at fedora10 hostapd]# ifconfig

But when run hostapd, wlan0 can not be set to master
mode.
[root at fedora10 hostapd]# ./hostapd -dd hostapd.conf
Configuration file: hostapd.conf
ctrl_interface_group=0
Failed to set interface wlan0 to master mode.
nl80211 driver initialization failed.
wlan0: Unable to setup interface.
Flushing old station entries
Deauthenticate all stations
rmdir[ctrl_interface]: No such file or directory
ELOOP: remaining socket: sock=5 eloop_data=0x943f640
user_data=(nil) handler=0x807a0a0

Then I run hostapd again, the message was not the same
as formers, "Failed to create interface mon.wlan0"
[root at fedora10 hostapd]# ./hostapd -dd hostapd.conf
Configuration file: hostapd.conf
ctrl_interface_group=0
Failed to create interface mon.wlan0.
nl80211 driver initialization failed.
wlan0: Unable to setup interface.

The reason may be that the AP mode didn't work.

1. Should I config wlan0 to work as AP mode before
hostapd start, just like madwifi's commands
"wlanconfig" or some else?
If it is, what is the command?

2. How can i test the AP-mode-patch if it can work
well?

3. Is there any other problem in my deployment?

Thank you very much!

Regards,
WangYue
