Two host_aps in WDS Bridgeing mode, Channel selection?

Hi Everyone!

I have set up two hostaps like in the README.prism2 file, using kernel 
bridging and a WDS-Link between them and everything works fine.
The only difference between the described setup and mine is, that both 
APs allow stations to associate.

Do I see it right, that these two APs HAVE to be on the same frequency 
and there share the same Medium?
