Linksys WPC 11 - Followup

I'm not sure what I have done differently (because I haven't really changed
anything) but now iwconfig reports an access point of 00:06:25:A8:F7:CE
which tells me that my basic connectivity is ok.

ifconfig shows wlan0 with the IP of 192.168.0.45 and I added the default
gateway again but I still can't even ping the gateway (192.168.0.1)

This seems less like a wireless problem and more like a plain old networking
problem, but I still don't know what to do next!
