rtmpdump v2.3 - that's an old version, can't see what version of get_iplayer your 
using. A start is to get up dated version of the programs, then try again.

This is on OpenBSD amd64 current, with get_ipayer v.2.82pl1 and rtmpdump 2.4pl2

Download in one go no problems, the problem looks to be get_iplayer/rtmpdump versions your using.
