ADLS is not deprecated for sure.  The quesion is: how usefull are these
usb modmes? Seems modems become deprecated by  wireless gateways/routers,
which are now chip and have better capabilities - read allow to connect more
devices to the internet. However if ECI modems are still sell/provide by ISPs
they will have users for few years.

In Poland ADSL/DSL is still very popular.
