alx FreeBSD support

Folks,

if we cannot get FreeBSD support addressed then at this point its time
to get the Linux upstream review process to get going again. I know
there was some early patches for FreeBSD support based on coccinelle
work, can that work be picked up?

The driver has been sitting in this tree for quite too long and if we
cannot get this address through the pipedream unification perhaps some
other driver and resources would be interested in trying this again
some other time but for now I want to see alx upstream ASAP.

If either of these are not addressed I'll just drop alx from
compat-drivers soon.
