PCMCIA reference driver

What existing Linux PCMCIA driver would be considered the best
reference for an uptodate/current
    reference driver.

Now that I can get the E12 properly recognized by Linux and the
driver loaded, I would like to get it current.
I have looked at many of the newer PCMCIA drivers and they all seem
to take different approaches to
things like setting the io/memory addresses irq's and windows for cards.
I would like to follow the most current approach.
