There is no /etc/firmware on my system. There is a /lib/firmware, but
it is empty. I downloaded the pcmcia-cs package and found some
3C*.dat and 3C*.cis files in a etc/cis of the download. I copied them
into the /etc/firmware on my laptop. The problem remained.
However, I looked at the information in 3CXEM556.cis and found it is
not accurate for the card. Neither is the information in
3CCFEM556.cis. For example, the card does not identify itself as
"Megahertz 3CXEM556", "LAN + 56k Modem". It identifies itself as
"3Com Corporation 3C562D/3C563D EtherLink III LAN+Modem PC Card".
If an entry in /lib/firmware is needed, how do I create a cis file for
the card I have?
