"unable to apply power" error

I am apparently having the "unable to apply power" bug.
I stopped using wireless pcmcia cards about six months ago (they worked
at the time).  This weekend I attempted to start using wireless cards
again, they now no longer work.

When I plug the card in I get the error: "cs: pcmcia_socket0: unable to
apply power".  Any help would be appreciated.
