cs: pcmcia_socket0: unable to apply power

Hello all,
Since a few days I am following the discussion about this bug which
prevents pcmcia_cs to power on cardbus-cards. The kernel bug tracker
handled the bug under id:4501 but it is marked as rejected because of
dublication of bug id:2944.
Could be that I have missed something, but are these two bugs really the
same? Which of the many patches out there solves the power problem most
likely?

I really would like to run my WLAN adapter under linux.
