Can you try a  2.6.10-rc2 or later kernel, and if yenta_socket is built into
the kernel, pass "yenta_socket.override_bios=1" on the boot line, and if it
is a module load it with "modprobe yenta_socket override_bios=1" before
starting PCMCIA. This experimental module parameter disables the 
BIOS-influenced allocation of resources, but tries to do the thing it 
thinks to be the smartest.
