VIA Epia MII 12000 LVDS, unable to apply power

Hello All,

I've got the known error about pcmcia being "unable to apply power". 
Googling got me to this list. So here's the information requested on 
http://pcmcia.arm.linux.org.uk/. 

The suggested fix from 
http://forums.viaarena.com/messageview.cfm?catid=32&threadid=57796
did not work. Despite the "reserve=0xde010000,0x10000" appended to kernel
(these were the values reported by dmesg).

I've applied a patch mentioned in the same thread. No change, same error 
messages (unable to apply power and PCI: Failed to allocate mem)

The kernel I'm running is the latest updated 2.6.8.1-24mdk (or -24mdkcustom 
after applying the patch and rebuilding), other installed packages are 
pcmcia-cs-3.2.8-1mdk and pcmcia-cs-3.2.8-1mdk.

This behaviour can be reproduced with both open source supported cards like 
prism2/orinoco, rtl8139 and fancy netgear wg511v2 that is ndiswrapper driven. 
All cards are verified working with my laptop (old tosh portege).

This is new VIA Epia MII 12000 board. This mini-itx board has PCMCIA slot 
installed.

Could some knowledgeable people shed some light at the problem? The MII 6, 10 
and 12k motherboards are quite popular in mini-itx world and I think, that 
there might be more people banging their heads against this list... Is there 
work in progress on this issue? Should a fix be expected?

I've subscribed here and searched the archives. I've also checked if cardmgr 
is running (it is). I will stay tuned for any possible suggestions. If you 
need any more information, feel free to ask.
