Trouble with orinoco_cs -- ignore_cis_vcc=1

Hi,
I'm having problems getting an Agere card working on Debian, kernel
2.6.10. The card is a PC24E-11-PC/R model. It should work with with
the orinoco_cs driver but so far it's a no go. Unless I'm mistaken the
card has a Prism type chipset.
At first I was having problems with messages saying there was no high
memory available. So I looked at the messages log and saw where the
system was reporting 0MB high memory available and 255MB low memory
available, with some addresses of unused memory. So I added a line to
config.opts to use some of the free mem:
include memory 0xe0010000-0xefff0000
That cleared up the memory issues and I stopped getting that message
in the log. Now I get these :

No matching CIS configuration, maybe you need the ignore_cis_vcc=1 parameter.
So then I added this line to the config.opts file:
module "orinoco_cs" opts "ignore_cis_vcc=1"
Still didn't work. (I keep getting one high beep then one low beep
when I insert the card)
The Agere card label indicates that the card will work at 3.3V, 5V, and 16V.
So then I tried "modprobe orinoco_cs ignore_cis_vcc=1" and that
doesn't work either. I didn't reboot after any of those changes. (Is
that necessary?)
I tried stopping the pcmcia service, inserting the card, then starting
the service. No go either.
