How about if you test once again the following parameters:
irq_mode=1 cs_irq=9 for the i82365 module
This should (if I understand correctly) use PCI interrupts for the pcmcia and use
irq 9 for the card removals/insertions. Maybe the polling can be avoided by cs_irq=9
parameter.
