Hello everyone. I'm new to the list, but not new to the archives.
I've done multiple searches on google and I've just got to break down.
Linux Version: RedHat 9.0
Kernel: 2.4.20-6 x86

pg: pg version 1.02, major 97
pg0: Sharing parport0 at 0x378
pg0: BACKPACK Protocol Driver V2.0.2ac
pg0: Copyright 2001 by Micro Solutions, Inc., DeKalb IL.
pg0: BACKPACK 2.0.2ac, Micro Solutions BACKPACK Drive at 0x378
pg0: Unit: 44 Mode:1 (8-bit) Delay 0
pg: No ATAPI device detected
pcd: pcd version 1.07, major 46, nice 0
pcd0: Sharing parport0 at 0x378
pcd0: BACKPACK Protocol Driver V2.0.2ac
pcd0: Copyright 2001 by Micro Solutions, Inc., DeKalb IL.
pcd0: BACKPACK 2.0.2ac, Micro Solutions BACKPACK Drive at 0x378
pcd0: Unit: 44 Mode:1 (8-bit) Delay 0
pcd0: identify before command: alt=0xa0 stat=0x0 err=0x101 loop=160001 phase=1
pcd0: Request sense before command: alt=0xa0 stat=0x0 err=0x101
loop=160001 phase=1

These are the common types of errors I get when trying to load pg -
for cd-r - or pcd - for cd-rom only. Currently I've got the pcd
module loaded, but the module is listed with "lsmod" as (unitialized).
I really want to get this thing working, so I can move on to BIGGER
and BETTER things. Thanks for any help in advance!!!

      -Louis
