nandwrite and nandtest on 512 page samsung nand

Dear All,
 Can't seem to ever get nandwrite and nandtest working on the 2.6 kernels ..
 Always breaks down while writing with pads . I cannot proceed further
 towards yaffs without knowing my basic driver works and can't figure it out
 without nandwrite working :( . If anyone has a build or source that will
 works for 512 page devices (samsung) , please do send a link .
