Latest CVS snapshot support for kernel 2.2.4?

Hello - 

I am running a linux-2.4.4 kernel on an embedded target and noticed that
the latest CVS snapshot has a driver for the DOC Millennium Plus. I
(unfortunately)
have one of these devices on my board and up to now had no MTD support.
Sadly, the
oldest kernel supported appears to be 2.4.10 per compatmach.h

Are there any plans to add support for earlier kernels?
