I think that was the consensus. As far as Windows is concerned, I must 
say I'm not that concerned about a name change, since due to our small 
userbase and the fact that anybody on Windows is currently using a 
*development* library (there's hasn't been a release) that is entitled 
to change at a moment's notice, we can do whatever we please there. But 
Hans and Vitali expressed concerns about the POSIX userbase, so I'll go 
with their opinion there.

I personally would like to see a name change for the 2.0 branch, for the 
simple reason that we're libusbx not libusb, and that if we're going to 
produce a version that requires developers to update their apps (due to 
API breakage), we might as well get them to update their linking while 
we're at it.

Also, consider this: A successful USB application relies on libusbx to 
perform its task. Users of the application, who are pleased with how it 
handles USB, try to find out the library it uses. They see libusb-x.y => 
they most likely end up with libusb rather libusbx and we lose a "sale"...
