I'm fine with that, except I'd prefer if whatever we pick from Peter's
tree first goes through the mailing list and is treated as as regular
patch, regardless of what occured on libusb. I expect our repos to get
out of sync, so most of these commits will have to be redone anyway.
Unless someone has objections with using the current libusb master as a
starting point, then I may try to sync libusbx master against it either
today or tomorrow. Psychologically, having a non-empty git repo there
will be a bit more auspicious for the future...

Thanks. If people are in a hurry to see the ball rolling, I'll see what
I can do to speed up the agenda highlighted previously. If we start to
review patches, it makes sense to at least have some target they can be
applied to when acked, to ease up further testing.
Also, I personally tend to prefer mail, since there's less risk of doing
something that others would miss, but either way is fine.

OK, then I don't mind doing a public announcement either. I'd just
prefer ensuring we're in good shape when we do so, and don't run into
something that we'd have had a better chance to fix before going public.

PS: Could anyone send a test mail to libusbx-devel at lists.sourceforge.net
alone (i.e. without CC'ing infradead)? I'm only seeing the infradead
messages, and I'm guessing my e-mail client is removing dupes, but I
wouldn't mind confirming.
For what is worth the SF archive seems to see the messages alright:
