Can you wait 3 days?

Crafting a quick portal page with a menu is about the next item I have
on the top of my list, and since I don't think it oughta take that long,
and unless something unexpected pops up, I should have something by Sunday.

Agreed. But the release is on the day of release (currently planned for
2012.04.16), not sooner, so I hope it gives us some leeway to work with
unfinalized items before that. Especially since we are getting started,
I don't think we can have everything in a presentable state from day
one, which is actually the whole point of 1.0.10. I'd rather use the
time that would otherwise be spent setting and then removing the
redirection into crafting the portal page.

As Xiaofan pointed out, trac or MediaWiki won't change much, and we
picked MediaWiki because we saw it has having better features,
wiki-wise, than trac. The main problem with speed is that any wiki seems
to be rather resource hungry, since the server has to interpret the
content into HTML, and SF.net probably tried to limit their hosting
investment there.
