[LEDE-DEV] LEDE version numbers?

These version numbers are used between releases, the part after the - is enough
of the git commit id (it's hash) for you to identify it. The r# gives you an
idea if it's newer or older than another one (since git hashes don't give you
that info)

nightly builds are not point releases, so they should not be given point release
IDs, they are automatic snapshots taken each night.

The Linux kernel project releases a new release candidate every two weeks, but
there are people doing nightly builds directly from git, they don't bother with
the r## and just use the git hash.

LEDE makes fewer official release candidates and the nightly snapshots are just
that.
