I'm total with you. Managed to bring remote servers offline by my self. Hence I know what a hassle it can be to get them back online.

Yes, in terms of xDSL. The interface is created with the final name instead of rename after created. There was an existing race condition fix that got disabled due to the interface rename. It was fixed with the mentioned commit as well.

I can't assure you that it works for you now, but I'm pretty confident that it does.
