Most modern NOR flash devices will support 4K sectors nowadays. I my daytime job, I use 128 MByte devices (1 Gbit) NOR devices that do and this seems fairly common. If you have a lot of erasing to do, you don't use 4 KB sector erase, but even at 64 KB sector erase, it easily takes > 15 mins to erase them.
