What happened in my case was the following:

After about 48 hours of uptime, all 2.4GHz stations disconnected within a minute of each other and could not reconnect at all anymore. Only way to solve this was "wifi down;wifi". After a similar period of time, it would occur again.

Hardware: AP: TP-Link Archer C7v2, 4-6 stations connected to AP via 2.4GHz band, most of them pretty old hardware (from 2010-2012, no new firmware available), 1 new iPhone, 1 WD TV Live with newest firmware (april 2016).
