I don't get it. Either the 2nd mac is unique or it need to be changed. both at the same time doesn't make any to me.

Well at least with this EEPROM there is no "Xiaomi Communications Co Ltd" mac address at offset 0x2E. It rather looks like random bytes/bytes with a different meaning to me. Please provide any proof that there is a mac address at offset 0x2E.

I asked for your EEPROM dump and the ifconfig output from the original firmware for reason...
