I have one of these cards and also used to use it on a Debian machine as
an AP. I have however stopped using it for 2 reasons:

(1) Very frequent firmware crashes. May be due to some hardware
incompatibility with my platform.
(2) I wanted a faster card; I've replaced it with a WLE1216V5-20.

But anyway: take a look at dmesg and the firmware that's being loaded
into the card. The firmware I was using came from the upstream
repository (version 10.2.4.70.66).
