Are you referring to the Wi-Fi Display handling in
p2p_build_prov_disc_resp()? p2p_process_prov_disc_req() is the main
place where P2P Group ID is used to determine whether to accept a PD
Request.
The P2P specification requires the P2P Group ID attribute to be included
in the PD Request frame for the use case of joining an already operating
group. As such, it is reasonable to use this information to confirm that
the peer is referring to a group that exists.
