Which hostapd version is this? If it is not 1.0 or newer, could you
please try with a newer version?

I would assume this is related to how EAPOL frames are delivered to user
space and how Linux bridge code changes that (different interface for
indicating the received packets). This is supposed to work fine and
automatically with the current hostapd implementation, though.
