Is there some reason for using a separate event for this particular case
of a STA getting disconnected? I would prefer to use the same message
for all possible ways of the connection having been lost.

I don't think there should be any assumption on this event meaning that
the station was explicitly disassociated. It is just supposed to
indicate that the association was dropped.
