rt61pci and hostapd not starting

I found.
Those firmware not needed to loading modules, but for starting hostapd.
So I underrstand no information about firmware in kernel sources.
But why modinfo shows:

Information about firmware is nesesery in source of hostapd or kernel. 
Those files not exists in both sources.
In my debian lenny I copied them to /lib/firmware (as You said) and 
hostapd started. I don't now where is this place in different distributions.
Now I will try is hostapd work ok.
